2023 Off-cycle Intern, Commodities and Global Markets [Hong Kong S.A.R.]

Are you interested in joining a dynamic, diverse and highly motivated team? At Macquarie, we look for innovative, driven and talented students who are resilient and collaborative. Applications for our 2023 Commodities and Global Markets Off-cycle Internship in Hong Kong is now open. We are looking for an Intern to help support the business development and growth of our Strategic Equity Solutions (SES) team - part of our Equity Derivatives and Trading (EDT) division.

This off-cycle internship opportunity runs full-time from July, for 3 to 6 months.

In collaboration with senior team members, you will be supporting the origination, structuring, execution and management of tailored derivative solutions and equity capital raising opportunities for new and existing clients. This is an exciting time to join our SES team, as we look to build on a recent track record of growth across the region.

During this internship, you will be providing operational support to the team including daily management and reporting and project work for business development. You’ll be encouraged to take responsibility from an early stage, and with the support and guidance of senior team members, you’ll quickly find yourself interacting with internal stakeholders from a variety of functions and divisions. You will work collaboratively, both within EDT and across the wider Macquarie platform, and you will be expected to raise your ideas and look for opportunities where we can improve.

With a diplomatic, persuasive and articulate communication style, you will be able to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external clients and partners. Given our focus on Asian markets, it will be ideal to have a good command of English and Chinese.

We are looking for undergraduates or post graduates across any discipline of study. You will also have solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under stringent time constraints. Your attention to detail will be second to none.

As the successful candidate, you’ll bring some experience within financial services and a passion to learn more about equity markets. You’ll have excellent academics, a strong numerical ability, an analytical mindset and a solid understanding of Excel, including VBA. Additional programming experience, or a passion in this field will also be advantageous.

If you have a passion for equity derivatives and innovative capital raising solutions for clients, please apply via the link below.
