The quality control position is a technical planning role. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to inspect IT equipment and verify that the prescribed activities were completed in accordance with established SOP (standard operating procedure). The quality controller will have an understanding of equipment BOM (bill of material), processing complexity and use that data to perform necessary inspections.
As quality controller, you must be an excellent communicator, working closely with other stake holders involved in the process and ensure any and all anomalies found are communicated to operation leadership in a timely manner. In addition, you may be the primary point of contact for internal customers such as Hardware Engineering, Logistics, Data Center Operations. As well as external customers – Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers among others.
This is a full time position and working Monday to Friday but may require a shift based pattern, operating on a 24/7 rotation. The ideal candidate is someone with hands-on hardware experience.
Key job responsibilities
- Carry out quality inspections & audits in conjunction with process lines and quarantine equipment as required
- Must have excellent attention to detail skills and report anomalies in an expeditious manner.
- Work and meet SLA’s against assigned targets.
- Understanding of server and network based IT equipment.
- Work with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to complete work activities.
- Adhere to security and safety best practices similar to data center environment.
- Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goals achievement.
- Identify and help create documentation for use globally.
- Identify and help create process improvements relevant to planning & inventory control, for both local and global environment.
- Interact with third party vendors & contractors.
- Contribute to the development of other team members.

- Experience on assembly line operation and planning.
- Previous experience in quality control.
- Knowledge of server assembly and complexity.
- Knowledge of networking assembly and complexity.
- Lean methodology, experience with value stream mapping and Kaizen.
